"The goal for the Dillinger Tamper was to create a tamper It's as tough as the toughest barista. Most tampers are just made of unhardened stainless steel. They get dented and scratched in a busy cafe. Not much to rave about.
So we used a vacuum hardened stainless steel. It's three times harder than a regular tamper, and will stand up to a lot of rough treatment.
And for those who like extremes, we pushed it over the edge. We coated the hardened stainless steel with a black diamond-like coating.
This coating is over five times harder than a regular tamper. It's hard enough to turn other tampers into little chips of metal. And it makes a wicked tamper too."
